About Solar Ontario
We Make Solar Work!
With over 40 years of Canadian solar energy industry experience, Solar Ontario designs and builds top quality, turn-key solar pool and solar water heating systems for residential, as well as municipal and commercial / industrial clients across Southern Ontario. We also put our experience to work as solar energy consultants, offering a range of solar system design, planning and site audit services to engineers, architects and building owners.
Solar Ontario is technology independent, and that’s important in Canada’s solar energy marketplace. While most solar energy companies represent a single product line, Solar Ontario takes an engineering approach to solar thermal systems, fitting the most appropriate technology to the client’s application, with a focus on the client’s bottom line. We will only recommend proven, tested technology backed by independent third party testing and by years of demonstrated performance in the field. This combination of rigorous installation standards with proven technology have made Solar Ontario a trusted resource for public sector energy managers and hundreds of homeowners.
Solar Ontario does all of its own solar equipment installation work. We do not sub-contract our installations. We specially train our installers to exacting quality standards that have established the best practices in the industry. We also apply our high commercial standards to our residential systems - providing our residential customers a quality of installation unmatched by any of our competitors.
Solar Ontario is striving for non-stop improvement of its operations, and offers continuous training for its employees. Our goal is to remain the market leader in the design and supply of solar thermal systems in Ontario. We are currently the largest independent solar thermal installation company in Ontario.
Solar Ontario also takes pride in improving standards across the solar industry. Solar Ontario’s principal Andy McKegney CET, past Chairman of the CSA’s Solar Thermal Collector Standards Committee, and has served on the Boards of CANSIA, the Canadian Solar Industries Association, and the Solar Energy Society of Canada. Mr. McKegney is a CANSIA certified solar thermal installer, and trains other installers on behalf of CANSIA.
