There has been so much misinformation about the benefits of the FIT program - pulmogated by those with a vested interest in selling "FIT" equipment and services, it's hard to know where to begin.

One point that bears promenance is the fact that PV and Wind power - as they are currently being sold and installed - are very bad for the realiablity of our electrical grid, and cannot be depended upon. Critics of this fact will be quick to claim that Germany has a great deal of PV and Wind and they are doing fine. They will also not talk about how Germany has four times the electrical generating capacity of Ontario, and it's electrical grid is intimately tied to other countries with equally large grids. They also have a far better grid set-up and are way ahead of us in managing it. (We should also point out that these critics are often German companies who have set up shop to sell as much as they can as quickly as they can before the locals catch on.)

The Ontario Power Union has pointed out this fact in full page advertising, but it appears the general public has drunk the "solar and wind power are the only thing for the future" cool-aide.
